Chill out Sunday at Key Biscayne

August 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday we just relaxed and hang around at the southest point of Key Biscayne. With its lighthouse and sandy dunes this beach is more or less similar to this special northsee atmosphäre. We were looking for lguanas which should be located there but could not find any! Luckily I had not to drive and could make more pictures during our ride – we took Miras super fast and fancy canary yellow Ford Mustang, awesome….

Weekend News

Holá que tal? Hope you had a great and sunny weekend as I had.
Yesterday I explored the North Beach area a little bit more: first took a sunbath at Surfside Beach – I dont’t know why it is called so, there was no surfer at all – then stayed a little bit more south at North Shore Beach. So I could tick off two more beaches from the long long list of the offical greater miami beach guide!
But due to there was no shady palm at all I got too much of the miami sunshine.

And after the relaxing afternoon on the beach I had to do my chores, little household things.
You can meet a lot of funny people at a coin laundromat here in Coconut Grove!

Luckily this was a very fast washing programm…
This sunday started with very heavy and rainy thunderstorm and I was wondering if the snorkling trip could be realised under this rough weather conditions at the Key Biscayne National Park.

Starting sunday like this....

But it pulled ahead and we could put out to the ocean more than an hour driving to the world’s third-larges reef! 95% of this National Park is underwater. It was awesome, snorkling very close to big barracudas, papageifishes and big swarms of other kind of colourful marina animals….

Gave up and drove home – will try again soon!

Hotel room view 20th floor

Hi and Holá que tal?
Yes finaly I survived the bunch of tourists going also to Miami with Air Berlin yesterday and arrived here at Coconut Grove. Could not check out much yet but this is the nice view out of my hotel room from the 20th floor! The ocean is not far away….and the pool not either!

Just jump in the Pool

My cultural first impressions have also been bilingual: not only english is very common here, spanish skills could also be very helpfull – I had the chance yesterday at the airport as translater to guide someones way home ;-)
Looks like this will be a hispanic-americano influenced experience!
