Some Impressions from Downtown…

July 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hi there,

had a crazy appointment at RikRak yesterday evening with Massimo – an awesome italian hairstylist for sure – to get this fancy and cool miami hairstyle ;-) Was first a little bit scared because of my poor hairstyling specific vocabulary – is it just a trim or a real hair cut?? no idea – but finaly we decided that it is something in between! So I drove to Downtown Miami passing lots of skyscrapers where the finance guys are making the big big $ and € transactions and the waterfront too!

Weekend News

July 28, 2008 · 1 Comment

Holá que tal? Hope you had a great and sunny weekend as I had.
Yesterday I explored the North Beach area a little bit more: first took a sunbath at Surfside Beach – I dont’t know why it is called so, there was no surfer at all – then stayed a little bit more south at North Shore Beach. So I could tick off two more beaches from the long long list of the offical greater miami beach guide!
But due to there was no shady palm at all I got too much of the miami sunshine.

And after the relaxing afternoon on the beach I had to do my chores, little household things.
You can meet a lot of funny people at a coin laundromat here in Coconut Grove!

Luckily this was a very fast washing programm…
This sunday started with very heavy and rainy thunderstorm and I was wondering if the snorkling trip could be realised under this rough weather conditions at the Key Biscayne National Park.

Starting sunday like this....

But it pulled ahead and we could put out to the ocean more than an hour driving to the world’s third-larges reef! 95% of this National Park is underwater. It was awesome, snorkling very close to big barracudas, papageifishes and big swarms of other kind of colourful marina animals….

Sweet surprise on a TGIF

July 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This morning we got a nice and very sweet surprise – a big box with lovely cupcakes and lots of marshmallows which are placed next to me! It’s hard to sit here with this sweet smell in my nose all day long! They are made by Stella’s Sweet Shoppe – have a look at this old-fashioned cupcake emporium, they look so pretty but taste incredible sweet! What a lovely “Death of sugar”….

Very sweet cupcakes!

Highlights at Coconut Grove

July 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Here are some spots at Coconut Grove where the after work life will take place. Some nice bars and restaurants are not far away and luckyly you don’t need a car to go there, it’s just a few steps away from the hotel.

I already watched Heath Ledgers last brilliant performance as Joker in “The Dark Knight” – you have to watch it, don’t miss it! This movie breaks already the $$ record at the box office here!

Going out with Google at Miami Beach!

July 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

Yesterday afternoon we had an official meeting with the Google guys from Chicago. James Bond – not the 007 agent for sure – and Anna presented the latest Google news and its great and still growing portfolio. It looks like Google does not focus on the big search and Google Adwords business any more – in the USA Google conquers the whole media world: they are now doing also in radio, print and tv !!! That’s scary…
And they start to promote a new way of buying offline media: forget about GRPs and all that traditional stuff, with Google you can buy everything on CPM! That will be kind of revolution in the advertising world. And not surprisingly they use auction tools and bid mechanism for this remnant inventory sale! That’s Google style!

Anyway, we had the great pleasure last night having dinner at the Emeril’s at Miami Beach wiht almost the whole media team. Emeril is a Jamie Oliver like famous cook here with his own cooking show on FLN.
We had lots of fun and tried delicious things!

Heard about the second Miami Sapient office already?

July 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Not realy I guess! I was also very surprised that there must be a three of them all here in this area – more or less close to each other. Today I had a quick stop at the second one the “Falls Office” to say hello to some of the BridgeTrack experts – it was a little tricky to find it – the office and the experts as well!

Looks like a garage from outside at first view!

July 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Holá guys,

today the “sunshine state” shows its full potential, its hot hot heat outside.
Just had lunch and would let you know how the famous “Brückentag” could look like ;-)
But don’t be too jealous – I got a bunch of mosquito bites which are now horable itching back in my cube…..

Here are some office impressions – the miami style of Sapient!
And today there is this special Hollywood atmosphere in the air – big film crew is working on the next “Burn Notice” episode: all that sun, surfing and spionage stuff taking place in Miami – must be something very famos, all girls are getting crazy about the main actor!! Maybe I can get an autograph….

My cultural first impressions have also been bilingual: not only english is very common here, spanish skills could also be very helpfull – I had the chance yesterday at the airport as translater to guide someones way home ;-)
Looks like this will be a hispanic-americano influenced experience!
